Across Africa, grassroots organisations and communities continue to face grant making systems that are often complex, compliance-heavy and disconnected from local realities.
What would grant making look like if it started instead with community assets, local knowledge, participation and agency?
SGS Consulting, in partnership with the Centre on African Philanthropy and Social Investment (CAPSI) at Wits Business School, invites you to join Reimagining Grassroots Grant making in Africa, a virtual consultation and knowledge exchange on a youth-led, Afrocentric and community-grounded Grassroots Grantmaking Toolkit.
Co-created by young philanthropy practitioners from South Africa, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia, the toolkit seeks to rethink how resources reach communities, shifting from grantmaking for communities towards grantmaking with communities.
This webinar brings together researchers, philanthropy practitioners, funders, community foundations and development actors to interrogate the emerging approach, share perspectives and help strengthen the toolkit before its finalisation.
We invite you to bring your experience, questions and critical insight to the conversation.
