COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

CAPSI’s community engagement work brings together people, ideas, and initiatives that strengthen philanthropy and social innovation across Africa. Through dialogue, collaboration, storytelling, and participation, we foster connections that support more sustainable and inclusive societies.

How We Engage

Convening

We bring people together through conversations, events, forums, and other shared spaces for learning and exchange. These engagements create opportunities to connect ideas, experiences, and emerging questions across the field.

Collaboration

Our work is strengthened through partnerships with researchers, practitioners, institutions, and communities. Collaboration helps us build stronger networks and extend the reach and relevance of our work across sectors and contexts.

Storytelling

Stories are central to how we communicate ideas, surface lived experience, and make philanthropy visible. Through media, interviews, case studies, and other public-facing content, we translate research into accessible, engaging narratives.

Participation

We invite students, young people, partners, and wider publics to take part in CAPSI’s programmes, events, and learning activities. Participation helps surface new voices and perspectives and builds more inclusive conversations about philanthropy.

Youth-led Philanthropy and Next-Generation Giving

CAPSI supports youth‑led philanthropy and next‑generation giving through ambassador schemes, student‑led projects, competitions, and youth‑created content. We showcase young leaders and practical initiatives that test new ideas, build skills, and connect emerging voices to peers, partners and funders.

Women in Philanthropy

Women in philanthropy is an important part of how CAPSI understands leadership, giving, knowledge production, and community-building across Africa. By recognising the contributions, experiences, and leadership of African women in philanthropy, CAPSI aims to support greater visibility, stronger networks, and deeper engagement across the field.

Through Adɔyɛ, CAPSI creates a dedicated space for this work, with research, publications, convenings, leadership profiles, storytelling, and opportunities for knowledge exchange and collaboration.

Partnerships & Collaboration

CAPSI’s community engagement work is strengthened through collaboration with partners across academia, philanthropy, civil society, government, and other sectors. These relationships foster shared learning, wider visibility, and more connected philanthropic ecosystems across Africa.
